Mothers Day Regatta

I know for some moms, Mothers Day is filled with guilt or regret over unrealized expectations, but I can honestly say it's at the top of my "favorite day" list.  Maybe it's because with Wayne and I having the same birthday, Mothers Day becomes the only holiday dedicated only to ME (rather big of me to admit my selfishness don't you think?).  Or maybe it's because Wayne has done such a wonderful job over the years making Mothers Day special and as the kids have grown, they have followed his example.  Whatever the reason, I have come to love and cherish this day that celebrates mothers.  True to form Wayne outdid himself with our dinner - only this time Maddy was right there working at his side.  Why I didn't get a picture of the finished product I don't know (I think I was too busy basking in the spotlight - my "Natural Man" in all it's Glory), but suffice it to say it was delicious!!

Our annual Mothers Day Regatta came a week early this year - let's just say we had issues, but it didn't keep it from being a great success.  There were many entries this year with both grandmas coming and Bailey and Tammy, Christopher and Meghan.  We even managed to find the perfect spot just down the street.
Here's the pictures:

The race is on!

The thrill of victory

The agony of defeat
The "Itty Bitty" never did make it to the finish line
