Another teenager

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GLORY!Yes, we have another teenager in the family.  As Glory enters the upper ranks of pre-adulthood, we wanted to take a moment  to celebrate her.  She is without a doubt a huge blessing in our lives and without a doubt we have been anticipating her teenage years with a mixture of excitement and trepidation (they say you can gauge how a teenager will be by how they were as a 2 year-old and if that is true, then we are in for quite a ride).

Case in point - a typical 15 minutes with 2 year-old Glory - not exaggerated, not embellished:

She capitalizes on the open bathroom door (left open by older potty trained siblings who also leave toilets UNFLUSHED!) and uses the colored water to wash the barbies hair.  As I grab the barbie out of her hands before she leaves a trail of potty water all over the house I give her the vacuum to keep her busy for a few minutes because "cleaning" is always a good distraction, but she proceeds to use it to suck up the dog's water and as I'm frantically trying to keep the vacuum from electrocuting her she propels herself over the back of the couch and in doing so careens her head into Gable's front teeth breaking them (this is only the first of a long series of knocked out teeth for him, the most recent being yesterday...uuuggghh!...more on this later).  As he grabs his mouth crying she gets so upset she internalizes his distress and ultimately, after several efforts to calm her, it is Gable who ends up having to apologize for hurting her tooth (she doesn't even realize it's her head that hurts).

She is such a breath of fresh air and if anyone can make the most out of a stereotypically difficult time of life, Glory will be the one.
