The Summer began with a quick trip south to see if we could find our property - which we finally did after hours of looking, but our stop at the Sand Dunes was the highlight!
A Trip to Winter Park:
We enjoyed biking and fishing and swimming and spending time with each other. Our favorite part was having Daddy all to ourselves - his phone wouldn't even work!
At Rocky Mountain National Forest - in the clouds above the Contintental Divide.
They still had just a "little" snow left from the winter
A stop along the way - even Gracey kept up pretty well. Eli liked to think he was the driving force behind the bike he shared with Gable, but Gable swears he didn't feel much power coming from behind.
Look who caught the biggest fish. Zoe loves to fish and kept pace with the big boys even when it ment getting up early and roughing it. A big surprise came when Gracey looked up and said "look it's a horse" - which Zoe assured her wasn't a horse, but was a deer - until Glory informed them that it was in fact a moose. Meanwhile the rest of us were certain it couldn't be a moose- until the moose came sauntering across the river right where we were fishing. What a thrill! Of all the times we've been to the mountains, we've never seen a moose, much less had one appear right in front of us.
Eli wasn't much interested in the fishing, but he loved collecting "wormmys" until his little hands were overflowing with them. The rest of the girls were all to happy to help him find them, so he really had a pretty good collection in no time. Getting him to leave them behind was another story. Even though it was a quick trip, we had a great time!
