Oh Holy Night

Christmas Eve wouldn't be the same without our Nativity. Over the years the kids have taken turns playing all the parts (including baby Jesus when we still had a baby in the house). What a sweet tradition this is for our family. It helps us to focus on the real meaning of Christmas before the craziness of Christmas morning distracts our attention to other things.

The kids also open the presents they got for each other and of course we can’t wait to jump into our new PJs. Christmas Eve is one of the best parts of the entire Christmas celebration!

It was Glory's turn to put the baby Jesus into Mary's arms

Christmas Day
We had a beautiful Christmas day. Momma joined us a little later and stayed for dinner (Wayne made yummy beef tenderloin with shrimp and twice baked potatoes).

This is Oliver.

Well let me back up by saying that the kids have been begging for an "inside" cat for years and Wayne and I have been resisting for years!! We’re just not cat people.

Anyway, wise ole Santa decided to leave this little orphan at our house with a note for the kids asking them to please take care of him. Now I’m not so sure what Santa was thinking, but the kids were thrilled (that is until Oliver got lost before they even got a chance to see him - we didn’t find him until late Christmas day). Not to worry though all is well and we are now actively involved in caring for Santa’s orphan.  He better appreciate this and we should definitely be put at the top of his NICE list!

Now, last but not least.......

We are happy to report that our Christmas tree is already down!!  Rednecks no more! We didn't even realize we had an extra window there.
