Follow up

In our church when the kids turn 12 they enter the Young Women’s (or Young Men’s) Program. This wonderful program provides instruction and support to “young adults” and helps them remember who they are as they face the many challenges and growing opportunities accompanied with adolescents and beyond. As our third child enters this special time we are so thankful for the inspired leaders and the time and effort they give on our children’s behalf.
Glory has been looking forward to turning 12 and getting to go to Young Women’s for a very long time and it turned out that the annual meeting that welcomes the new “beehives” for the year was her first activity. She had such great time and jumped in with both feet as she and her friend preformed “take me out to the ball game” as part of the program.
They are still both young enough and new enough that they weren’t too “cool” to embarrass themselves like the older girls….. Actually they did a great job and I’m pretty sure these two girls will continue to perform and have fun, even when they are older and of course much cooler.

Yes Maddy was there too – A veteran of the shenanigans that go on every Wednesday evening.  Well it's not always shenanigans, sometimes they do service, have a spiritual lesson, or learn something useful like how to sew etc.  - just sometimes it's shenanigans.

Here are some pictures from her birthday – momma’s delicious cake and all.

Now that she's 12, do you think she'll be as excited to do her own laundry as she was to go to Young Womens?

If you are 12 then that makes me...nevermind just OLD. Congrats Glory. BTW you can always come to my house any day and do laundry for me.
