When she was a toddler we would ask "who wants to go outside?" "who wants a cookie?" "who's got stinky pants?"  And her response......"GLORYDOO". 


Well....Who's turning 12?......GLORYDOO!

Funny, caring, Spirited, Smart, Social, passionate, Talented, defender, wild, beautiful, responsible, genuine, loving, goofy, friend, loyal

 As our Glorydoo turns 12 we rejoice in the blessing we have to share our lives with her. What an honor it is to have her for a daughter! She is our "spirited" child who takes life by the horns and lives every minute to the fullest. She is still the same kid that taught us so long ago to choose our battles wisely (and we've learned it well). We found it was easier to pin a button to her shirt that said "I dressed myself today" than to make her wear shoes - even in the winter or to make her get out of the fleece pajamas she insisted on wearing in the heat of summer. She is such a beautiful “young woman" (that doesn't seem possible) who thankfully can finally style her own hair - for years her self-styled hairdos gave her the appearance of an orphan child (and you have to be pretty secure parent to not worry about what people think of you when you show up with a little orphan). How appropriately ironic that she is playing the part of an orphan in her school play (Annie)this spring.

Glory we love you so much! Thank you for always being your wonderful self. Thank you for having the courage to dance to the rhythm of your own drum and for creating a beautiful music all your own. We hope you have a wonderful twelfth year as you go about the business of growing and learning and sharing and being the wonderful girl (sorry, young woman) that you are!  Have a Happy Birthday!
