Who would have thought?

We have been to many different athletic events over the years as our kids have explored numerous sports both in and out of school. Most of their choices have not come as too much of a surprise as the kids have chosen to be involved in the sports Wayne and I were involved in (is that because we have subconsciously steered them towards those sports? Is this another reason for counseling as they become adults?) Anyway, Maddy has taken up track this spring and without even so much as consulting us, her event of choice is the shot put and discus.


(OK - now I need to back up and confess that Wayne and I both participated in track (me for only one year) and Wayne actually threw both the shot put and discus during high school, but the kids didn’t even know that so it really doesn’t count)

So, now we are attending her track meets and who would have thought that she is actually pretty good. When you take into consideration her little size, she is more like really good.
