A Willing Heart

"I'll do it", I've heard it countless times from this  sweet daughter of ours - we all have.  It might even be said that our family can sometimes take for granted the willing heart that Zoe has always innately possessed.   She is the go to girl - the one you can count on to......to what?  To help when no one else wants to, to play your game, to love you when you're unlovable, to carry your load, to take the smaller half, to let you go first... and she does it without complaint.  Seemingly without a thought.  It's not to say she's a pushover - quite the opposite in fact - she has even aptly been named the bulldog because of her persistent drive.  No, she is not weak, but rather she posses a quite strength with an unlimited capacity to serve as she embodies the virtue of charity.Where others (myself included) might not even see a need, she steps in and willingly fills the gap with such grace that it often goes unnoticed.  She seeks no commendation or praise, she's just doing what comes naturally to her generous heart.  I can't remember a time when this beautiful girl wasn't naturally grateful (even as a baby, she would thank us for changing her diaper - and not just once, but every time).  Many times it is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease, but Zoe's gratitude never leaves her wanting and she thrives even when she's not getting all of the grease she deserves.  You may never see her busting down the doors of life and demanding her place at the head of the table, But she will be there, and if you are astute enough to notice, you will see that it is her that provides the bountiful harvest when others are too busy complaining about the drought. Thank you Zoe - for your willing heart.  You truly are a wonderful friend and a gift to everyone who knows you - especially to your family!

Truer words were never written. Zoe my wonderful and beautiful granddaughter. I love you and miss you so much. I have so many lovely memories of you. I remember the county fair, when you said you thought you smelled, well you did from the borrowed goat clothes that didn't ever get over the billy goat smell. You didn't complain, just went on to show you goat. Love Momma
