I know I haven't posted in a while and I'm so far behind it makes me break out in a cold sweat, but since I had these pictures on my phone and I can post this from my phone while I'm still in bed before anyone else wakes up....here goes.
You could say a lot of things about Wayne and most of them would have to be good things - we won't include things like his tendency to leave his clothes on the floor since everyone in the family is equally guilty. But one of the things that could not be disputed is that he is a fantastic dad who's dedication to his children knows no limits. Now keeping in mind he was supposed to have a total hip replacement early this year makes the 100 miles he has logged on his feet this summer all the more remarkable. First it was the 4th year hike at girls camp then came high adventure and not long after was trek (more to come on this soon), but yesterday he and Gable set out in the morning to finish Gable's last merrit badge so Gable can become an Eagle Scout (before school starts again and before college applications are due and before he turns 18). All he has left before his board of review was to finish his hiking merrit badge and that meant a final 25 mile hike. So off they went in the morning on a hike to Coors Field to go to a ball game that night. Here they are as they left in the morning and then the picture they sent that evening with the wonderful sentiment "WE MADE IT" .....now that's a good dad! - blisters and sunburn and chaffing and all.....I think we'll keep him!
