Since I did a post on my photography blog I'm just going to paste it here instead of write a whole new one:
So, I know that getting your pictures taken is no picnic for any
family....especially for the moms who have to coordinate outfits and get
everyone clean and happy at the same time :). Actually, it's something
we (meaning me and my family) do very rarely. Usually it's just me and
a tripod trying to get "the" shot of everyone smiling and it doesn't
always work out so well. I think the last picture we had taken (which
incidentally was the second time ever) was about 8 years (and minus one
child) ago. How sad is that? Well this year I decided no matter what,
we were going to get our pictures taken!!! Now let me give you a little
background:
About 2 years ago, when I started doing photography "professionally" I
found my greatest teacher was (and still is) being inspired by the
beautiful work other photographers. About this time I happened upon the
blog of a wonderful photographer from North Carolina. Fast forward
about a year and imagine my surprise when I was sitting in church one
day and heard the name of this photographer who was now living back in
Colorado. I felt compelled to introduce myself and, long story short, I
was excited to have her take our family pictures this fall - even
though it meant getting all 8 of us outfitted, clean and happy...at the
same time. Yes, I get that having your pictures taken isn't always
easy, but it is definitely worth it!
You can see her blog HERE,
but she was nice enough to let me do a post on my blog as well. Thank
you Aly Dart for being a wonderful photographer and for being willing to
share you talent with my family!
