A day in the life of a traveling salesman

It's a lonely way of life - pounding the trails to earn a buck or two to feed the hungry mouths you regrettably leave behind to await your heroic return

When you are on the road, you are forced to throw down any old place you find - enduring a comfortless night's sleep - a single cactus providing the only elevation for your head while you painfully yearn to be home listeing to the blissful songs of your angel children as they dutifully put themselves to bed.

You pull yourself out of your restless sleep in the morning, determined to face your day with a positive attitude, comforted by the fact that you are your own man - accountable to no one – you are untouchable and must fight to maintain contact with the world around you. You are resistant to the pressures of being out on the road and only briefly pause to consider the drudgery of your journey.

But…the predictable scenery deadens your senses and you must patiently endure the monotony of your dismal surroundings. You are thankful your loved ones aren’t forced to bear the tedium of life on the road, but instead are home enjoying the richness of their highly stimulating and uniquely blissful existence.

Once in a while you come across some pretty threatening natives whose hostility requires you to reflect on the peaceful home you left behind and you long for the company of your always grateful family.

For sustenance, you are forced to ingest the most unappetizing and unappealing scraps just to carry on. Your one wish is to once again enjoy the incredible creations your loving wife prepares each evening and you long for the stimulating conversation found at your table.

As the grueling day comes to an end, you must again seek out any old shelter, enduring the lack of comforts so readily available at home.

Upon reflection, you realize that traveling has made you somewhat nutty, and you become aware of the fact that you are capable of carrying on a conversation with your son’s little monkey – you actually enjoy his companionship…

No, in reality it’s all for Eli…Really.
