**note: Eli is a worrier by nature. His little brain can get quite carried away with focusing on trivial details that to his young mind seem very important (like being late or forgetting his snack). I have tried explaining to him that I am the mom and that it is my job to do the worrying. His job is to have fun, because he is only 4. I have told him that when he is big (even bigger than Gable), and he goes off to college someday, then it will be time for him to take over the worrying, but until then he should leave the worrying up to me…because that’s my job (and his dads). He’s not so sure he’s convinced by this argument, so in the mean time we will continue to reassure him and give him plenty of opportunities to test our theory.
Back to the Museum: I appreciated having the opportunity to go on an adventure - just me and Eli (I used to be a good mom and took the older kids to all kinds of fun places - what happened to me?) Anyway, we did get there on time (we were the first ones there in fact) and we had a lot of fun. Eli’s favorite part was seeing the body parts – the brain, the digestive tract and the heart etc., but he had a great time playing with all of his friends and exploring the exhibits. As a bonus we got to meet Dad downtown and go out to lunch (see, I told him he didn’t need to worry about lunch).
Exploring the skin cells from his cheek
He's taking it all in stride...This exhibit recorded your stride and then produced a silhouette with your information. That's Eli and his stats...low energy? Eli?
I think I'll make a point to do this kind of thing more often with him before he goes off and leaves me next fall...Do I really have to let him go to kindergarten?
