e-ra; n. 1. A period of time characterized by particular circumstances, events, or personages....
Gable's wrestling has marked a period of time in our family history that will be remembered with mixed emotions. It has required so much from him and as his family who loves him , so much from us (especially his dad). He has committed so much time and energy into a sport that has given little in terms of reward, but much in terms of growth. This was his year! He had his eyes on State and with this years record, it looked as if he had a good chance of going........in fact the guy who ranks the Colorado high school wrestlers called Gable his "dark horse pick" at 32's.
The end of an era:
Sometimes things don't go quite like we planed. Gable was in a match in the last tournament before Regionals and dislocated his elbow. They tried to put it back into place at the tournament for about 30 minutes before rushing him to the emergency room where they knocked him out and reduced it before sending us home with a fairly dejected son. Everything points towards a successful recovery after weeks physical therapy etc, but the emotional scars might take a while longer to heal.
One thing wrestling has taught us is that Gable can't be knocked down for long, so now we turn to the next phase...College. Our little dark horse found out he was accepted to the Colorado School of Mines today and while we still wait to hear back from West Point and BYU, we wonder what direction life will take this toothless son of ours.

The device looks like something from transformers. Gable looks so grown up, the boy is gone and a man is left. Congrats on your entire season. One match does not define your entire year. Oh yeah congrats on Mines it is a great school.
